Surgeons Quarter’s Stewart Munro takes on the EMF for Cyrenians
As part of Surgeons Quarter’s ongoing partnership with Cyrenians, Operations Manager Stewart Munro is raising funds to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness by running the 2026 Edinburgh Marathon Festival this May.
Taking on the challenge for the third year in a row, he’ll be raising the bar by taking on the half marathon with a higher fundraising target of £1,000.
“Having worked closely with Cyrenians for several years, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact they make on individuals and the wider community, and I’m proud to represent Surgeons Quarter in supporting them again this year.”
This challenge means a lot to Stewart, who has already taken part in relay runs in support of Cyrenians and has been training hard alongside his demanding role as operations manager to meet this new, meaningful milestone. It hasn’t been easy, but he’s committed to pushing himself further than he’s gone before.
Since 2023, Surgeons Quarter has collaborated closely with Cyrenians, supporting our mission to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness across the Southeast of Scotland.
They hosted our flagship Supper Soiree event replete with a bespoke menu featuring produce grown in our green spaces and gardens created by SQ Executive Chef Dominik Kawalec. They also made their 1505 cafe a distribution point for our organic veg bags and donated their coffee grounds to our Green Skills centre to nurture greener, more sustainable supply chains.
Surgeons Quarter’s teams have gone the extra mile too, volunteering raising money through EMF relays and other fundraising challenges.
Dedicated and collaborative partners like Surgeons Quarter helps Cyrenians tackle the root causes of homelessness and allows us to support even more people and communities across Edinburgh and beyond.
