At Cyrenians, we believe homelessness is not inevitable. It is often the result of predictable and preventable challenges such as poverty, trauma, inequality, relationship breakdown and gaps in support. That is why we take a public health approach to homelessness, working to prevent it before it happens while supporting those facing crisis today.

Through over 40 services and projects across Scotland, we provide relationship-based, trauma-informed support at life's toughest moments and riskiest transitions. We work alongside individuals, families and communities, offering early help around mental health, family relationships, employability, community connection and housing, while also supporting people into safe homes, training and accommodation. Last year we provided 1 to 1 support to over 2,000 people, supporting almost 6,400 more people with our activities, group support and access to food, skills and training.

But lasting change requires more than individual support. We work with partners, policymakers and people with lived experience to challenge the systems that create and sustain homelessness, advocating for the changes needed so everyone has the opportunity to build a safe, stable, and fulfilling life.

For more than 50 years, we have listened to those we support and learned from the expertise of our staff, volunteers and partners. Together, they help shape services that respond to real needs and create lasting impact.

And impact is never just about numbers.

It is the young person finding stability after a period of uncertainty. The family staying together through difficult times. The person building confidence, learning new skills, returning to education or taking their first steps into employment. It is the thousands of everyday moments in which people find hope, connection and the chance to move forward.

These are some of their stories.
