Social Bite Village
The Village Community is a welcoming and supportive residential accommodation located in Granton in Edinburgh, built by Social Bite and run day-to-day by Cyrenians, with support, activities and administration provided by our team of staff and live-in volunteers.
The community provides a safe and caring home for 16 individuals who have been assessed as homeless.
Our ten small houses, shared by two people, offer a warm and friendly environment, and the communal HUB provides a large communal space for cooking, eating relaxing and a range of activities. The HUB also has a laundry and office space.
Tackling homelessness through community living
Our dedicated staff team is available up to 9pm from Mondays to Fridays, and we also have on-call cover overnight and on weekends. With volunteers availble for peer support and company. We are pet-friendly and offer an opportunity for community members to build confidence and skills while waiting for a permanent tenancy.
Our community is made up of our residents and four volunteers who live on-site and work alongside our staff team to encourage and support participation in education, employment, training, interests, and activities. We believe that community involvement is crucial to promoting the health and wellbeing of our community members, and we work tirelessly to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all who call The Village Community home.
