"Your staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We had a fab day and it was great to be able to physically help instead of my usual desk job."

Our farm: growing food, communities and confidence
The Cyrenians Farm is a social enterprise located just outside Edinburgh. It’s a working farm producing fruit, vegetables and eggs; it’s also home to a community of vulnerable young people, many with experience of homelessness. The Farm grows food and helps the community to grow people, providing a range of opportunities for individuals to develop skills and confidence as a step towards a settled lifestyle.
Get involved
The farm is open to companies and other organisations for corporate away days and team-building events. And we’re always on the look-out for a wide range of volunteers. Can you help?
Team building days
Everyone is welcome at the Cyrenians Farm - including groups from companies. We run fun and active away days for up to 30 people at a time, including refreshments and a fantastic lunch (all from the farm, of course!).
On arrival, we’ll tell you about what we do and how your efforts will help us. You’ll get a tour of the farm and then we’ll get you working on farm tasks - from building a polytunnel to working in our fields with crops. We’ll have a round-up chat at the end of the day and you can even buy some of our fantastic produce to take home.

Volunteering
Come and join us on the farm! You don’t need any experience (although if you have you’re more than welcome too). Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds so you’ll get the chance to meet some great people as well as helping out the residents and trainees.
Day volunteers help with tasks like:
- Mucking out the chickens
- Harvesting the fields
- Preparing a polytunnel for planting
- Delivery driving
- Jam making
- Helping in the kitchen
- Administration
We also have long-term paid placements on the farm through schemes like Project Scotland and the European Volunteer Service.
