Support into a Home
We work to prevent homelessness wherever possible. But when people do find themselves at risk of losing their home, sleeping rough, leaving an institution, or facing crisis, we are there to help them find safety, stability and a path forward.
A home is more than four walls and a roof. It is the foundation from which people can rebuild relationships, improve their health, pursue education or employment, and create a sense of belonging. That's why our support goes beyond helping people access accommodation. We provide relationship-based, trauma-informed support that helps people sustain their housing and build more secure futures.
In 2025/26, we supported 2,037 people through our housing, welfare rights and accommodation services, including 100 people who successfully moved into a home of their own.
Creating Safe Homes for Survivors of Domestic Abuse
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home.
Through our Women in Safe Homes (WiSH) project, 36 women and their families who had experienced domestic abuse moved into safe, stable accommodation where they could begin to heal, rebuild their confidence and plan for the future.
For many, receiving the keys to a safe place to live marked the beginning of a new chapter.
Having a place to live has made us feel positive again, and the children have started to get their confidence back. Since moving into the flat, I've started to feel that I can make decisions for myself and choose my own life again. I don't have to worry if anyone gets angry at me for what I'm doing. Some things are still not easy, but honestly this is the first time I've felt like I'm at home.

Ensuring No One Leaves Hospital Without Support
A hospital stay can be a critical turning point, particularly for people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, poor mental health or addiction.
Our Hospital In-Reach teams work alongside healthcare professionals to ensure people do not leave hospital without the support they need to recover safely and avoid housing crisis.

In 2025/26:
- 463 people received support while entering or leaving hospital.
- 375 housing referrals were supported to help people maintain, secure or move into suitable accommodation.People received practical help including travel costs, food parcels, emergency funds, clothing, phones and support reconnecting with wider services.
By addressing housing needs alongside health needs, we help prevent people from falling through the gaps between services and reduce the risk of homelessness following discharge.
The Cyrenians Hospital In-Reach Service has transformed this process by providing practical solutions, reducing delayed discharges and ensuring patients leave hospital with the right support in place. They have become an essential part of effective discharge planning, helping us support patients safely, with dignity and hope.

Providing Safe Places to Recover and Rebuild
Sometimes people need more than a house. They need time, support and a community around them.
Across our residential communities, we provide safe accommodation and 24-hour support for people at some of the most challenging points in their lives, including young people experiencing homelessness, people leaving long-term hospital stays, unaccompanied young asylum seekers and adults recovering from homelessness.
Last year 64 people lived in one of Cyrenians' residential communities, receiving tailored, trauma-informed support designed around their individual circumstances.
People were supported to develop practical skills, improve wellbeing, build confidence and prepare for independent living.
Our communities offer more than a place to stay. They provide the stability, relationships and opportunities people need to move forward with hope and confidence.

Supporting People Beyond Street Homelessness
For people experiencing street homelessness, taking the first step towards stability can feel overwhelming.
Our outreach services meet people where they are, building trusting relationships and helping them navigate the often-complex journey from rough sleeping to accommodation, support and longer-term stability.
Last year we provided 251 support to people experiencing or moving on from street homelessness.
Through practical assistance, advocacy and ongoing support, we help people access housing, reconnect with services and take the next steps towards a more secure future
