Cyrenians Warm Coat donation drive
Cyrenians are looking for donations of warm coats to help older people keep cosy this Winter.
Cyrenians Golden Years and Heart of Newhaven Community are working together to help older people attending our weekly community lunch stay warmer this winter. Our lunch club aims to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people in the local area, while strengthening community links.
We play an active part in reducing food waste by using food sourced through FareShare, a supply of good quality produce which would otherwise end up in landfill. We can help reduce our environmental footprint further by supporting recycling/donating clothing.
With a cost-of-living crisis hitting everyone hard, it can mean making the choice between heating your home so you are warm enough inside, and buying suitable winter clothes so you can be warm enough outside. This initiative aims to ensure our community can access good quality second hand coats for free through our Monday lunch club, enabling them to stay warmer this winter for less.
Coats should be adult-sized, in good condition and freshly washed ready to wear.
Any donations should be labelled for 'CYRENIANS' and dropped off at Heart of Newhaven, 4-6 Main Street, Newhaven EH6 4HY. The centre is open for drop-offs Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, or Saturdays 9am-1pm.
