An evening with Smør Bord

Olivia Smord Bord

10 Dec 2026

Flavour and Haver Cook School, 66/68 Jane Street, Edinburgh , EH6 5HG

£50

Spend an evening with Olivia, the founder of Smør Bord, learning to make a grazing spread just in time for all your new years hosting!

In this hands-on workshop, Olivia will show you how to build dishes that work well for grazing on, that look beautiful, taste fantastic and feel generous, without spending hours in the kitchen. She’ll share her tips for choosing ingredients, balancing flavours and textures, arranging everything beautifully and making a platter work for the people you’re feeding.

For Olivia, the best food is food thatbrings people together. And a good grazing table is really just an excuse to gather everyone around it.

Menus are subject to change but may include:

  • Trout Pâté
  • Beetroot and Feta Dip with Walnuts
  • Guindilla Pepper Cream Cheese Spread
  • Smoked Trout Salmon Platter with Pickled Cucumber and Onions
  • A selection of simple (but delicious!) Crostinis

About Olivia

Olivia is the founder of Smør Bord, an Edinburgh catering company inspired by her Norwegian father, Scottish mother and a lifelong love of food and bringing people together.

After over 10 years in corporate pensions, Olivia decided it was time for a change and swapped spreadsheets for sharing boards, building Smør Bord around Nordic-inspired food, Scottish ingredients and the belief that food doesn’t need to be complicated to feel special.

She loves the theatre of a good grazing table - the colour, texture and abundance, but most of all the fact that it gets people talking, reaching across the table and helping themselves.

About our Cook School Events:

The unrestricted funds raised by our events allow us to provide the resources and opportunities to support participants at our Cook School on their food journeys, sustaining the skills and confidence they gain with us here, and beyond. Since the beginning of the year, we’ve provided over 50 cookbooks and ingredient-based gift bags to participants in our Food Preparation and Budgeting Skills 6-week course. In addition, our weekly Lunch Club has served over 500 free, three course meals so far this year, and continues to support our pledge that good food and good company to share it with, are key to a public health approach to homelessness prevention. Thank you for choosing to participate in an event that makes a difference, so that everyone can experience the benefits of cooking and eating together, regardless of finance, confidence or ability.
