Lotus Community

Cyrenians’ Lotus Community provides safe, welcoming accommodation and tailored support for unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people aged 16-18. Designed to help young people settle, build confidence and prepare for adulthood, the service combines independent studio accommodation within a shared living environment with personalised support from experienced staff.

Residents benefit from regular one-to-one support, case management and access to a dedicated wellbeing hub offering mental health support, wellbeing activities, education opportunities and training programmes. This holistic approach helps young people strengthen their resilience, develop life skills and progress towards their personal goals.

A unique feature of the community is the presence of residential volunteers who live alongside residents, offering practical guidance, positive role modelling and a sense of belonging within a supportive community environment.

Lotus Community is committed to ensuring that every young person has access to the stability, resources and encouragement they need to thrive. The service is particularly suited to young people who would benefit from supported accommodation, emotional wellbeing support and opportunities to engage in education, training and community life.

Referrals: All referrals to the Lotus Community are managed through Edinburgh City Council. Professionals seeking to refer a young person should contact the council directly for referral information and eligibility guidance.
