Falkirk Key to Potential

Key to Potential Falkirk is an outreach-based employability and post-school transitions service for young people aged 16-19 who are approaching school leaving age, have recently left school, or are not engaging with careers services and other support. The service works intensively with young people who may be at risk of disengagement, unemployment or poor post-school outcomes.

Delivered through a home-visiting outreach model, Key Workers build trusted relationships with young people and their families, providing tailored careers information, guidance and practical support. The service helps young people explore their options, understand available pathways and make informed decisions about education, training and employment opportunities.

Support is highly personalised and may include careers coaching, college and training applications, CV development, job searches and interview preparation. Key Workers can also help young people build confidence travelling independently and accompany them to visit colleges, training providers and employers, enabling them to learn more about available opportunities and make informed choices about their future.

The service is particularly suited to young people experiencing barriers to progression, disrupted engagement with education, low confidence, limited support networks or uncertainty about their next steps. By providing flexible, relationship-based support, Key to Potential helps young people move towards positive destinations in education, training or employment while strengthening family involvement and support.

Referrals are made directly from the 3 local High Schools - Grangemouth, Falkirk and Denny.
