Mediation and Whole-Family Support

Cyrenians' Mediation and Whole-Family Support service provides a relationship-based intervention for families experiencing conflict, communication difficulties or relationship breakdown. The service aims to improve family relationships, reduce conflict and prevent situations from escalating into family breakdown or youth homelessness.

Support combines impartial family mediation with tailored outreach work, enabling families to rebuild trust, improve communication and develop sustainable solutions. Alongside mediation, Family Outreach Workers provide practical and emotional support to young people and family members, focusing on confidence, relationship skills, education, employment and community engagement.

The service is delivered through a flexible, strengths-based approach, typically over a minimum 12-week period, recognising that meaningful change takes time.

This service is particularly suitable where family conflict is impacting wellbeing, stability, education or creating a risk of homelessness for a young person. In Edinburgh, the service is available through the Edinburgh Council Accredited Pathways and Certified Counselling and Therapies Framework.
