Edinburgh Recovery Activities

Edinburgh Recovery Activities (ERA) is a community-based recovery service for adults in active recovery from alcohol and illicit substances. The service complements clinical and treatment-based interventions by providing ongoing social, peer and community support that helps individuals sustain their recovery and build positive networks.

ERA delivers a varied programme of weekly groups, creative activities, social events, community-based opportunities and a dedicated weekly recovery café. These activities are designed to reduce social isolation, promote wellbeing, strengthen recovery capital and encourage long-term engagement within the recovery community.

The service is suitable for people at any stage of their recovery journey, from those newly entering recovery to individuals with many years of sustained recovery who would benefit from continued peer connection and community involvement.

ERA operates on a self-referral basis, making access straightforward and flexible. Professionals can signpost individuals to attend drop-in activities directly or encourage them to make contact through ERA's Facebook page for information on current events and opportunities. The supportive, non-judgmental approach helps individuals build confidence, develop meaningful community connections and maintain recovery through consistent engagement and peer support.
