Community Learning Hub at Arnotdale House

Cyrenians Community Learning Hub at Arnotdale House is home to several projects providing support, and building community, for people across Falkirk.

We know how valuable it is to feel connected to your local community and have a network of people to rely on when life gets tough. That’s why all our projects and services focus on building (or re-building) those connections, ensuring when people finish working with us they have their own support networks in which to thrive.

Our learning hub provides training and employability opportunities, supports people to improve their health and wellbeing, offers options to gain SVQs, connects people back into the community and supports local businesses and employers to work with individuals moving on from the Justice System.

We support individuals trying to gain employment whilst navigating the stigma attached to their experience of being unemployed or being involved in the justice system.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to live valued and fulfilling lives and our learning hub is one space in which we support people to do exactly this.

Community Link Worker:

  • Our Community Link Worker offers non-clinical support to people for a variety of social issues, setting goals with each individual to overcome barriers and take greater control of their health and wellbeing.

As part of Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership our Community Link Service provides person-centred support to patients of a number of GP practices including; Kersiebank Medical Practice, Bo’ness Road Medical Practice, Carron Medical Centre and Graeme Medical Centre.

We can provide support for individuals who are experiencing social isolation, family difficulties, financial hardship, trauma, low-confidence and many more social issues.

Keep In Touch (KIT):

  • KIT is our suicide prevention programme designed to help support people with suicidal ideation.

This pilot scheme is designed to be utilised by people referred from their local surgery, either through their GP or Mental Health Nurse. Our Wellbeing Worker specialises in supporting individuals who present with thoughts of suicide or have previously attempted suicide.

This is a non-judgemental service, offering a space for people to move at their own pace, co-designing the support they need. The aim is to prevent people moving into crisis whilst waiting for secondary care appointments by providing a listening ear, space to talk, and support to navigate access to psychological services.

Multiply:

  • For many, numbers can cause stress and confusion. From managing price comparisons at the supermarket, to understanding your own finances, playing games or getting the bus - numbers are everywhere and no one needs to struggle alone.

Our free courses build confidence to manage these every day tasks, providing a safe and supportive environment to learn new skills amongst groups of your peers. Our courses are accredited SVQ's Numeracy level 2 - 5.

Take the stress out of numbers and join our next course today! Contact us at falkirk@cyrenians.scot

Quest:

  • Quest is our navigation service funded by the Employability Training Unit through the UK Prosperity Fund. The project aims to reduce the barriers faced by people who have been involved with the Justice Pipeline.

We offer support to individuals to prepare for, and sustain, employment, volunteering and training, or to access universal services. We can also provide direct access to CSCS training. Email falkirk@cyrenians.scot to get started.

Young Adult Service (YAS)

YAS

Our YAS project supports young people aged 16–24 who are experiencing social isolation. We create space to participate in a variety of activities to develop skills, community, and build resilience and confidence.

Over 10 weeks there are opportunities to participate in days/nights out, trying new things and connecting with their peers.

We know not everyone is ready to jump straight into a group environment so we also offer 1:1 support to improve confidence, build trust and self-belief so the young person can fully participate.

Our YAS project also offers the opportunity to gain accredited learning on communication and life skills, active citizenship, mental health and more. To get started contact falkirk@cyrenians.scot.
