Chances: Gambling Support
1-2-1 Support
We offer one-to-one non-judgemental tailored support to people over 16 across Scotland who are gambling, have gambled in the past and are in recovery or those impacted by someone else's gambling, to help them reach their goals. The support includes
The support we provide to family and friends impacted by gambling is focused on them, rather than the person who gambles and utilises the CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Planning) approach. Family and friends are welcome to receive support whether the person gambling is being supported or not.

Group Support
We offer group support to target demographics which so far include:

Education
We provide free and comprehensive upskilling to professionals across Scotland and offer a Level One, Level Two and combined full day session.

We are also happy to deliver training in person for organisations and can arrange customised sessions for different sectors and organisations.
We also provide free community education for community groups, parents, religious groups and more. If you would like to find out more get in touch and we can discuss, how make the session work best.
Outreach
We are passionate about ensuring no one misses out on accessing support and we have a developed outreach strategy to make sure we are meeting the needs of the most marginalised in our community.
We can provide the following for people who gamble and people in recovery:
- Support to reduce gambling or stop completely
- Holistic support that acknowledges gambling rarely exists in isolation
- Practical support with self-exclusion from gambling apps, websites and premises and/or setting limits and harm reduction planning
- Budgeting and financial support and signposting
- Emotional support through wellbeing tools and coping strategies to improve emotional & mental health
- Psychoeducation to develop understanding the gambling industry and the psychology of gambling behaviour while looking at personal gambling behaviour and making appropriate changes
- How to improve other areas of life to reduce the desire to gamble
- Improving community connections and encouraging meaningful use of time with other activities focused on the person’s strengths, wishes & goals
- For people in at any stage in their recovery, we can support by providing regular check-ins to maintain recovery and avoid relapse, while supporting healthy life changes and choices

- Increased resilience

We understand asking for help can be difficult so want to make sure you get the support you need, in the way that works best for you. Our Chances: Gambling Support team can work with people face-to-face, online, or by phone depending on preference and location.
