Creative Natives
Creative Natives provides a space where young people, aged 14 to 24 years old, can grow their creative potential, confidence and connections in a working art and design studio.
Creative Natives is made possible by a skilled team of keyworkers, artists and volunteers who provide comprehensive holistic, nurturing and individualised support. We facilitate the exploration of creative ideas in a supportive environment, allowing young people to lead the way on their own projects, whilst offering the support for young people to develop their skills in graphics, web-building, photography, poster and flyer design, painting, drawing, and more. We encourage creative ideas through raising awareness of the visual language and expanding the vocabulary in which to communicate ideas and provide space for the exploration of creative ideas in a supportive environment.
Free and accessible 'third spaces' which provide opportunities for social interaction outside the home and places of work or education are increasingly rare. Creative Natives provides a vital and vibrant space for young people who want to focus on creative projects, learn new things, and express themselves in a supportive and accessible environment.
“This place has helped me do so many mediums of art - painting, sculpture, I've even been able to bake for this place. And I met my best friend here!”
At Creative Natives, you're the boss! We help support each individual to explore their own interests, developing skills most important to them - with the added bonus of helping develop CVs and folios along the way too!
