Support available during the holidays
The holiday season can be challenging for many. At Cyrenians, we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to the necessary assistance and knows where to seek help during a crisis.
Cyrenians Support Services
Over Christmas and New Year, Cyrenians will be running on reduced capacity due to public holidays. This will affect most services from Tuesday 23 December to Monday 5 January. Some services will be open during these times – see below.
Cook School
Our Flavour and Haver Cook School will be closed from 18 December until 5 January, during which Crisis will be using our facilities to prepare Christmas meals for those who need them.
Falkirk services
Our Falkirk Services will be closed from Friday 19th December. The service will reopen on Monday 5th December.
Communities
Our communities will be operational as usual.
ERA (Edinburgh Recovery Activities)

Outreach
Navigators service will be closed from Monday 22nd through to Monday 5th of January 2026. Anyone requiring street support can contact the Streetwork Team at Simon Community Scotland, Edinburgh: 0808 178 2323 - www.simonscotland.org
Community Link Workers, Income Maximisation and Gamble Aware will all be working a reduced service and no in person support will be taking place.
During this period, if you do need support with gambling then please check out the National Gambling Helpline at this link here.
Almoner Service will be closed between Thursday 18th December and 5th January.
Our WiSH (Women in Safe Homes), Ability Development, Hospital In-reach and Chances will be operating but at reduced service. They will not be available on 25/26 December and 1/2 January.
OPAL (Opportunities for Active Lives)
The OPAL offices are open : -
Monday 22nd December : 9am - 5pm
Tuesday 23rd December : 9am - 5pm
Wednesday 24th December : 9am - 12:30pm
Thursday 25th December : Closed
Friday 26th December : Closed
Monday 29th December : 9am - 5pm
Tuesday 30th December : 9am - 5pm
Wednesday 31st December : 9am - 12:30pm
Thursday 1st January : Closed
Friday 2nd January : Closed
Monday 5th January : Normal hours resume

FareShare Depot
The depot will be open until the 24th December.
The Depot will not be open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day.
They will be open again on the 29th, 30th and 31st December but will then be closed over New Years Day and 2nd January.
Service will resume as normal on Monday 5th January.
