Peter joined the board in June 2023 as Treasurer.

A chartered accountant, he worked in local government finance with the Accounts Commission, Grampian Region and Aberdeen City Council. Following early retirement, he moved to Malta in 2009 where he founded the financial institution Malta Microfinance, giving small loans to refugees.

On his return to Scotland he joined the board of the Scottish Refugee Council in 2017 becoming the Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee then Chair of the Board. He stepped down from the Board in 2022. He is a trustee and volunteers with Dunfermline Foodbank. He enjoys being retired as, apart from time with family and an adorable labradoodle, it gives him the opportunity to volunteer with organisations that are making a positive difference in the lives of those who are struggling.

He is delighted to join Cyrenians as Treasurer and to work alongside some amazing people.
