Peter joined the board in June 2023 as Treasurer.

A chartered accountant, he worked in local government finance with the Accounts Commission, Grampian Region and Aberdeen City Council. 

Following early retirement, he moved to Malta in 2009 where he founded the financial institution Malta Microfinance, giving small loans to refugees. Following his return to Scotland in 2016 he joined the board of the Scottish Refugee Council becoming Chair before stepping down in 2022. In addition to Cyrenians, Peter is Chair of the Board of Dunfermline Foodbank. 

He has completed a sponsored book challenge reading seventy books over six months which he preferred to abseiling off bridges. His favourite was the booker prize winner, Prophet Song by Paul Lynch.
