OPAL Scottish Borders

OPAL Borders is a new service for older people living in the Scottish Borders area. OPAL (Older People, Active Lives) aims to maintain and improve people’s social connections, independence and well-being. OPAL’s initial focus will be to support anyone of age 60+ who is looking to re-connect socially in a group setting. We’ll provide weekly social and activities groups in Eildon venues across the Borders region.

The first OPAL Borders Group, at Dovecot Court in Peebles, launched on 15th August 2022, with more groups starting soon.  For further details please check our community calendar.

Group members can decide on the activities they'd like to take part in. For example, these can include things like: singing & entertainment, games, talks from speakers, quizzes, walking groups, and much more. Groups are free to attend, and light refreshments are provided.

If you (or a family member or friend over 60) would be interested in taking part in a group, please get in touch. You can call us on 01750 491090 or email opalborders@cyrenians.scot

OPAL Borders is funded by the Scottish Governments mental health and wellbeing fund. We work in partnership with Eildon Housing.
