Solmaz Eradat will be back in November with another of her fabulous Persian cooking classes. In this class she will teach you how to make Tomato Ash from Tabriz. Solmaz says: ‘The dish ‘’Ash’’ to me really defines Iran, with each family and region creating their own twist to this warm and true comfort food. It is best enjoyed on cold and wintery nights and this one comes from the Azerbaijan region of Iran, where my dad’s family originate from and still live.'
Solmaz will also be teaching you how to make delicious plant based pistachio and walnut cookies with the beautiful spice of cardamom. We buy our ground cardamom from our local Turkish supermarket that saves you having to grind it yourself.
By choosing the option to attend in person, you will be provided with the ingredients, be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the class and use the facilities at our cook school in Edinburgh.
Through booking our Community Kitchen, you directly support the work we do with people taking the first steps on their own food journeys. This includes classes on how to cook healthily on a low budget, a flatpack meal service for local schools, as well as doorstep meal deliveries for older people and those recently released from hospital.
“The Cyrenians Cook School is such an inspiring place”, Maria, a recent masterclass attendee told us. Our social enterprise cooking classes are where Edinburgh’s food lovers come to learn from expert cooks from Edinburgh’s many communities. Eat the world without leaving home.
