Join us for a virtual bake along with our award-winning chef Noura Selibi on Saturday 7th August at 11am - 1pm. Noura will show you how to make delicious maamoul, a shortbread cookie stuffed with date paste or chopped walnuts or pistachios and dusted with powdered sugar. Noura will also teach you how to make kunafa, a glorious confection of soft melted cheese (mascarpone & homemade curd cheese) sandwiched with shredded phyllo pastry and drizzled with rose water syrup.
Through booking our Virtual Community Kitchen, you directly support the work we do with people taking the first steps on their own food journeys. This includes classes on how to cook healthily on a low budget, a flatpack meal service, an outdoor lunch club offering free meals for people to take away as well as doorstep meal deliveries for people with no access to food or funds.
“The Cyrenians Cook School is such an inspiring place”, Maria, a recent masterclass attendee told us. Our social enterprise cooking classes are where Edinburgh’s food lovers come to learn from expert cooks from Edinburgh’s many communities. Eat the world without leaving home.
