Community Cook Clubs

Cyrenians Community Cook Clubs

At Community Cook Clubs everyone enjoys the opportunity to have something to eat and someone to eat with. Cyrenians provide nutritious meals whilst building community – we create new friendships that build self-esteem and reduce loneliness.

As well as eating in the groups, members are given recipes, extra ingredients and additional prepared meals to take home or to give to a friend. The clubs can hold themed events like film and games nights or talks, and an array of advice and support services are available.

You can join in the cooking or simply come along for the community meal and enjoy the chat. Community Cook Clubs can take place in any venue with space to cook and eat.  Groups can access the very low cost ingredients through FareShare, making them inexpensive to run and Cyrenians Community Cook Clubs are free to attend and open to all.

Cook Club Volunteers Needed!

We need drivers with their own cars to help facilitate various Cyrenians Community Cook Clubs. This involves collecting the ingredients from the depot on Jane Street and helping set up the cook club at the relevant location.

You’re also welcome to assist or lead in helping prepare/cook meals for those attending, if you wish. You can find more information on leading our Community Cook Clubs and applying here.

We are also looking for someone to provide entertainment at the Hibs Gamechanger lunches.  For more information please contact amandalaw@cyrenians.scot
