Donate and become a 'Friend of Cyrenians'
Everyone who comes to Cyrenians brings their own unique experience on our journey together to a positive destination.
Whether you decide to make a monthly pledge donation or a one-off donation, you will be helping us support people through their journey and help Cyrenians support them.
By helping us to support people excluded from family, home, work or community you make a positive impact in your local community and beyond.
Family and People
We work with families to build resilience, resolve issues and repair relationships. We run a befriending service for over-60s to help them stay connected in their communities. We provide a safe and supportive environment for people on their journey away from addiction.
Home and Housing
A commitment to tackling homelessness has been central to Cyrenians mission from the founding of the charity. We continue to build on this commitment, seeking innovative ways to prevent and alleviate homelessness, offering housing advice and providing supported housing for young people.
Work and Skills
Cyrenians provides supportive employability services that equip jobseekers to move into work across Scotland. By supporting those jobseekers who face barriers in accessing jobs, and by offering skills and training, we not only assist our clients into work but we keep them in employment and away from benefits dependency.
Community and Food
We have a range of services and social enterprises that teach people about the health and economic benefits of growing, cooking and eating good food together in our local communities. Our Fareshare project redistributes food to local good causes which would be destined for landfill and our Food Education programme provides classes with 'hands on' activities that encourages healthy eating and promotes social inclusion, allowing those who attend to move towards a more settled lifestyle.
Why make a monthly donation?
Giving regularly helps us to continue to provide support and help people to create positive destinations, such as, the ones listed below.
Katie, aged 16 years who along with her family were supported by our Conflict Resolution Service, says “Now we have a brilliant relationship that we can freely communicate feelings. I don’t think I would still be at home or doing as well if it wasn’t for the Cyrenians.”
Megan, who came to Cyrenians looking for support to stay in her accommodation, says “I never would have been where I am today if it hadn’t been for the help that I received from the Homelessness Prevention Service. The service completely changed my life. I was in quite a mess before and the service has completely turned my life around. The help that I received was phenomenal. It improved my physical and mental health.”
Steve, who found employability support though our Service Bank, “I recently started a new job after a long period of ill health…I found the service really informative and reassuring. I needed bus fares to get to work for two weeks and food vouchers helped until I started getting wages. This is a very good service to help people stay in work & keep their jobs.”
Cyrenians needs your help to support people like Katie, Megan and Steve and the thousands of other individuals we journey with every year.
